Last month we celebrated the best songs of 2020 with our Virtual Song Contest Awards Program. When we did a call for semifinalists to perform, we have such a big response that we have had to make the event a two night affair. View these events on Facebook or our Youtube Channel. Please like our pages. You can also post the below links from our youtube channel on your page for your friends to watch. The awards show is in two parts. Each show is in separate parts arranged into a playlist. That way you can find your individual performance or award easily. There is also 30 second clips and everyones certificate in a certificate roll.
Saturday, January 9th, 12 - 3 Dallas Songwriters Song Contest Semifinalists showcased.
In November 2019, DSA celebrated 15 years at Dunn Brothers. DB was discontinued in June 2020 and beyond until further notice. The longest running open mic in DSA history was started by Craig St Clair on Thursday, November 18, 2004 and was held on every third Thursday of the month, 6:30 - 8:30pm for 15 and 1/2 years until the COVID pandemic shut us down in March of 2020. When Craig moved to Venus, Harry Hewlett took over hosting duties. Dunn Brothers received a DSA Community Award on January 16 at our 2020 Awards Program. It was presented to Alan and Kate Geddie by Craig St Clair. Here's how the certificate reads. "Dallas Songwriters Association presents Dunn Brothers Coffee with the 2020 Excellence in Community Service Award - Thank You, Alan & Kate Geddie and the entire DBC team for the outstanding venue for supporting original music & the best cup of coffee in town."

On January 16, 2021, Dallas Songwriters Association presented it's 2020 Song Contest Awards program. We were so lucky to have our great friend and the grand prize judge of our song contest, Roy Elkins, to join us for the announcement of the winners and his comments on the competing songs. DSA is celebrating our wonderful 20 year partnership with Broadjam. They have been instrumental in supporting our song contest as a sponsor and online submissions partner. We are so very grateful for their partnership and the way that Roy cares about our members and the help that he have given us throughout the years including the educational programs he has provided. We are so glad that our then president, Sherrie Davis, found him back in 1999. We are so thankful for Roy and Broadjam. Here's how the certificate reads.
